Meet the Interns: Fall 2016
Hi, my name is Katilyn Thomas, I am a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University with a strong passion for event planning and music. What I love about The Broadberry and the city surrounding it is the artistic vibe that compliments the bustling city. This internship has given me the skills and resources to coordinate events, develop business strategies, and maintain the Broadberry brand through social media, among other things. Since I was young, I always envisioned myself working with music and you can imagine how excited I was when I found out there was an intern opening in my skill set at The Broadberry. It was the best location for me to gain experience, while enjoying music and working within it. On the days I am not at The Broadberry, you can find me reading at coffee shops, studying for school, or baking fun desserts!
Hello! My name is Chloe Fernandez and I am a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am studying mass communications with a concentration in public relations and a business minor. My love for entertainment, fashion and music is what led me to where I am today, studying PR and interning for The Broadberry.
I’ve always been passionate about public relations so finally getting the first hand experience for a place like The Broadberry has exceeded my own expectations. From learning how to use new programs to understanding the importance of organization and teamwork, I’ve learned so much about what really goes into maintaining a brand name.
When I’m not at The Broadberry working on graphics, blog posts, or engaging in social media you can find me at the library studying, on the sales floor at Victoria’s Secret, traveling or most likely out at a new restaurant eating some good food.
I am a recent graduate of Virginia Tech’s School of Communication. I recently moved to Richmond, VA hoping to become involved in local art and music. I am pursuing a career in public relations, hopefully building off of my latest experience at The Broadberry. Most of my free time is spent running, hiking, attending shows, and studying craft beer. I eventually hope to be involved in some form of event production, learn everything I can, and have a great time along the way.
I am excited to be a part of the team at The Broadberry this year. It is rewarding to be part of a company where the effort I put forth creates a product that all of Richmond can enjoy.
My name is Grace Ellinghaus and I am a recent graduate of Radford University! What I love most about working at The Broadberry is that I can gain experience within the entertainment business, while surrounding myself with an endless supply of new music. I have always dreamed of working with music and multimedia, and I am very lucky to be able to start my career in this beautiful city. Not only is Richmond a fantastic place to discover new talent, but The Broadberry is an excellent place to expand your knowledge about an upcoming singer, songwriter, band or DJ. I am huge advocate of spreading awareness of new artists and musicians, and I believe that working at The Broadberry will make me much more successful at doing so.
