THE SHACK UP ARTIST FEATURE: The Shack Band

A project originally formed in Blacksburg, The Shack Up relocated to Richmond back in 2010 and has been an active part of the Richmond music scene since. With Bobby Hudson on drums, Mason Owen on bass and vocals, Andrew Gillespie on keyboards and vocals, Hunter Pease on guitar and vocals, and Josh Crowley on sax, flute, and vocals, The Shack Band has played north of 300 shows along the East Coast and as far west as Chicago. On Saturday, September 15th, the band will play in the Fourth Annual Shack Up Music Festival, an event the band’s own Mason Owen has collaborated on with The Broadberry and Camel owner Lucas Fritz since 2015, when they hosted the first Shack Up.
