In 2011, Travis Gray renamed his band, Travis Gray & The Frontiers, (which originally consisted of himself, Shane Gilman, Matthew Dobbs, and drummer Scott Francisco), Wild Adriatic after putting his feet in the Adriatic Sea after a trip to Italy. Since then, the lineup has changed from a four-piece band to a trio, with Gray being the only original member. The current lineup consists of Gray on lead vocals and guitar, Rich Derbyshire on bass and supporting vocals, and Gray’s longtime friend Mateo Vosganian on drums and backup vocals. The band is known for keeping a very active touring life, playing up to 175 shows a year. On May 5th, 2018, the band played their 1000th show at Putnam Place in Saratoga Springs, NY, which serves as the band’s origin. Wild Adriatic will be playing The Broadberry on Friday, September 14th as part of the Fourth Annual Shack Up Music Festival, sharing day one’s bill with Richmond locals, Butcher Brown and Weekend Plans.
