American rock and roll band MikroWaves is the fruit of 20 years of hard living and the songs which chronicle the lessons learned by frontman Edward Prendergast.

Growing up on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., Prendergast was exposed to the city's vibrant cultural scene, ruling the pit at a Cro-Mags or Murphy's Law show, then jamming it home to the gogo sounds of Rare Essence and Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers. Prendergast's first musical love, however, was the blues. John Lee Hooker, Elmore James, Robert Johnson, these were the men who taught him what it means to be an artist. Moving to Richmond, Virginia to study jazz, Prendergast joined salsa band Bio Ritmo and immersed himself in the world of Afro-Carribean rhythms.

Relocating to Miami in 2000, Prendergast, while making a living playing bass in musical theatre, began to write songs and started his first band, Pencilgrass. Known as 'Miami's Champions of Soul,' they worked the east coast for 5 years, ending up in frigid New Haven, Connecticut. When Pencilgrass disbanded in 2006, he returned to Richmond, rejoined Bio Ritmo and founded the psychedelic electro outfit Amazing Ghost. Signing with Miami record label 10k Islands in 2011, Prendergast, as Eddie P & Big East, tried his hand at the writer for hire game for a couple years before realizing that he needed, for his very sanity, to go back to the beginning, the raw sound of blues, filtered through latin rhythms and funked up with a gogo swing.

Inspired by R.L. Burnside and Mexican cumbiancheros Los Master Plus, and the upcoming birth of his first child, Prendergast decided that the world was finally ready for MikroWaves. He reached out to his friends and colleagues, trumpeter Bob Miller (Matthew E. White), low brass master Toby Whitaker, saxophonist John Lilley (Bio Ritmo), drummer Kelli Strawbridge (Jellowstone Records, Kings), and percussionist Hector 'Coco' Barez (Calle 13) to help him achieve his vision. Co-produced by John Panos (Mates of State), Get Nuked!! is a raucous call to arms. The sound of NOW. The Biggest Beat. The birth of Brogga Music. Brogga Nation UP!!
