Audacity Brass Band
Audacity Brass Band
Audacity Brass Band is a ten piece “new wave” New Orleans Style party band with a funk-fusion twist. ABB is based out of Farmville, VA. With all members composing, ABB’s style is influenced and includes; hip-hop, rock, blues, traditional jazz, or whatever they are feeling on stage at the moment. “We love the flair that Audacity’s style brings. Groovy, Funky, Tight, Audacity.” – Charlottesville Fan
Audacity was started by Sam and Tyler in April 2014, with the help of other musicians and friends at Longwood University. Once they found set musicians the group quickly started arranging and writing. Audacity played their first two years around Farmville, Virginia mostly around the campus of Longwood University. 2015 brought ABB’s first recorded demo, Bourne Salty. Good luck finding that. In 2016 Audacity Brass Band released their first album A101 and picked up residencies in Richmond, Farmville, and Charlottesville and began to travel outside of the Central Virginia area. In January 2018, the band released a deluxe single, The Salt Supremacy, that featured their anthem “Brap Attack”. Audacity is releasing their second full length album, The Chemically Imbalanced, February 7th 2019!
Landon Elliott
Landon Elliott
From a small town on the sandbars off the coast of North Carolina to the fanning asphalt of Richmond, VA; somewhere between the soft orange glow of the sunsets on those shores and the exposing neons of his new fluorescent city, you find Landon Elliott and his sound.Through feeling love and loss, growing older, experiencing shame and loneliness, and finding both freedom and challenges in doubt, his vulnerability and storytelling leads listeners behind his eyes to a view that seems oddly familiar. With one foot firmly set in heartland and the other dipping into indie rock, we find Landon in a headspace as diverse as the city of Richmond where he now resides. Whether listening with held breathe or screaming at the top of your lungs, there is a place for you at the table to enjoy his songs. Landon Elliott is on American Paradox Music (Richmond, VA) and is scheduled to release music in 2019.
VILLAGES
VILLAGES
VILLAGES is what happens when a lifelong piano player has a midlife musical crisis, teaches himself guitar, writes 70+ songs in a little over a year, and then gets his super talented friends to make them sound cool."It's kind of an experiment that has gotten out of hand," says Justin Paciocco. The band -- known as VILLAGES -- includes a revolving collaboration of some of RVA's most plugged-in musicians: Stephen Lecky (Farm Vegas), Zach Hudgins (Jackass Flats), Corey Wells (Shack Band), James Lloyd Hodges (Avers), and Stephen Kuester (Jackass Flats).
Free Union
Free Union
Free Union is a band based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Originally named Michael Coleman Band, the change to Free Union spurned from the desire to promote the collaborative approach the band has taken. Focusing on songs about justice, love and freedom fusing together various different influences from Rock to RnB, Free Union brings a unique sound that is broad reaching.
